All cat parents know that all cats are beautiful, but certain breeds are better known for being cats with big eyes. If you’re on the lookout for your next breed, maybe you’d like to look at possible options with mesmerizing, large eyes.

In that case, you’re in the right place! Our list of these cat breeds with big eyes includes some popular breeds like the Persian and British Shorthair, along with less-than-familiar options, like the California Spangled cat and the Elf cat. Let’s dive in!

1. Burmese Cat

The elegant Burmese cat combines a svelte outline with large, round eyes that express exactly what this kitty is thinking about. Their beautiful coat colors of blue, champagne, platinum, and sable contrast against their green or golden eyes for a truly stunning effect.


2. Tonkinese Cat

As well as being one of our top cats with big eyes, these cats have stunning colors not seen in other cat breeds. Violet, sky blue, gold, and aqua are just a few of the shades of eye color found in the Tonkinese breed.


3. Scottish Fold Cat

One of the most noticeable features of this breed is their folded-over ears, which give them their name! But their eyes are also round and large. They stand out even more due to their small nose. Scottish Fold cats can have eyes in almost any shade.

The Persian’s small, slightly flat face and fluffy coat just seem to make their large, round eyes stand out even more! Persian cats often have bright blue eyes, although they can often be seen in a copper shade. Occasionally, Persians have two different colored eyes, known as heterochromia.


5. Sphynx Cat

While the Sphynx might be more famous for their hairless bodies, this cat’s big eyes are certainly an incredible feature in their own right. Their eyes are wide set, with an oval shape rather than round. Common eye colors are green, blue, and yellow.

The Singapura might be the littlest breed of cat, but their eyes are certainly not small! In fact, their breed standard considers small eyes a fault. Singapuras have expressive faces and playful natures and love human company. Their eyes can be hazel, yellow, or green.


7. Devon Rex Cat

The first of two Rex breeds in our list, the Devon Rex has a streamlined body and large ears that only serve to enhance this cat’s big eyes. Devon Rex cats can have eyes in any color, and occasionally, you’ll see them with incredible eyes in shades of aqua and blue.

Another Rex breed, the short and slightly curly coat of the Cornish Rex just makes their beautiful large eyes pop even more. Their eyes can come in many different colors, including green, hazel, brown, and blue. The most common eye color is a stunning gold.
