Tips For Picking Up Your Maine Coon Kitten
1. Cat Carrier
Unless you are having your cat delivered, you will need a cat carrier to take your new kitten home. We recommend purchasing the largest carrier your budget will allow. Not only will your large carrier be suitable for your cat when it’s fully grown, but it also allows you to keep a small litter box inside that your cat can use, especially on longer trips.
A litterbox can help prevent accidents and help your cat feel more comfortable.
2. Small Litterbox
We recommend making a small travel litterbox out of a cardboard box. Find something that fits nicely into the carrier and add a small amount of litter to create a DIY disposable litterbox. We recommend doing the same thing for your trips to the vet.
3. Two Blankets
We recommend traveling with two blankets, one for inside the carrier and another to keep over the top. The covering blanket can help make some cats feel more secure during your trip, and it will also help keep the kitten warm if the weather is cold.
