From Eyesore to a Glowing Centerpiece: Meet the Modern Cat Tree – The Jellyfish Cat Tree!

Cat parents know the struggle: traditional cat tree towers often end up shoved into corners, wobbling after a year, with fabrics that collect fur and never look truly clean. Purr Nook’s new product, the modern cat tree, originally developed by Purr Nook, offers a fresh alternative. The first of its kind, it reimagines what an aesthetic cat tree can be.

Sleek, sturdy, and furniture-grade, it doubles as a cozy lamp with built-in ambient lighting, so your cat gets a stylish spot to scratch, play, and rest while you enjoy a warm glow in your space. It perfectly blends modern home design with feline comfort, and is built to last.

There’s more beneath the surface of this jellyfish-inspired design, so let’s dive in and explore how the modern cat tower blends innovation, style, and feline comfort in a whole new way.

The Founder’s Story

The creator of this unique cat tree is both an interior designer with an eye for style and a devoted parent to cats and a small dog. The idea sparked from a simple, everyday moment: after replacing her own bedding with fresh, beautiful linens, she glanced at her old cat tree — dirty, frayed, and impossible to clean.

“Why do humans enjoy sturdy, stylish furniture and fresh sheets, while our pets are left with fragile, unsightly trees?” she wondered. That question lingered and led to frustration, which led to a year-long design journey and the birth of the Pure Nook jellyfish cat tree, a piece of cat tree furniture that is as safe and hygienic as it is beautiful.

Product Highlights

Unlike flimsy cardboard posts and brown carpet cat climbing towers, the wood cat tree is built to true furniture-grade standards — designed to be as much a part of your home as your sofa or dining table.

  • Made to Elevate Your Home – This luxury cat tree blends with any style: modern, Scandinavian, or vintage. It’s not built to be hidden, but to showcase your taste and design.
  • Solid Construction – Crafted from natural rubberwood with reinforced aluminum alloy connectors.
Washable Fabrics – Every textile panel zips off for machine washing, keeping things as fresh and clean as your own bedding.
  • Day-to-Night Functionality – By day, it’s a multi-level playground for climbing, scratching, hiding, and lounging. By night, it transforms into a sculptural ambient lamp, glowing softly with a built-in motion-sensor light.

Built with Sustainability in Mind

Beyond function and aesthetics, they emphasize sustainability in the Purr Nook cat tower’s design:

  • Responsibly sourced solid wood.
  • Modular design that allows owners to refresh or expand instead of replacing the entire structure.
  • Optimized packaging to reduce shipping volume and carbon emissions.

Be the First to Bring One Home

The unique cat tree has successfully completed its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign and is now available on presale on the Purr Nook website, featuring five unique styles and a wide range of colors, from soft neutrals to bold statement tones.

For cat parents tired of choosing between beauty and practicality, it may finally be time to bring the cat tree out of the corner — and into the spotlight.

Learn more details and grab the presale offer for the Jellyfish Cat Tree – limited time only.

  1. I keep getting my breasts wedged into the corner of the room when I'm cleaning behind my cat tower, fortunately i had my phone with me so I could call for help.

    1. Wow, Barb, that sounds like a very unusual and potentially scary experience! We are certainly relieved to hear that you were not seriously hurt and that you had your phone to call for help.
It's amazing what we endure when trying to keep our cats' areas clean! We hope the cleaning is now complete and that your cat tower remains safely situated.
