I'm Miss Blue and will be the spokespurrson for my "pride" of kitties!
Members of "The Pride" (as our fur-Mom calls us) are my brother Indy Boy, we were ferals kittens Mom adopted, although Indy was just supposed to be a foster, but he is so shy Mom decided it would be best if he just stayed with us. (She's so smart!)
The newest member is Tori, who was dumped here last fall. Mom thought she might be going to have kittens so she took her in and since we were so afraid of her, Tori had to stay in the basement in Mom "Plant Room" with Baby, Mom's oldest kitty. As it turns out, Tori wasn't expecting and that was really a relief for all of us! Bless Mom for not leaving her outside though.
Baby is around 15 years old and hates all the rest of us, so she stays in the basement to keep the mice and other varmints out. She might be old, but she's a great mouser! She and Tori actually got along really well. they both get to go outside and stay in the back yard and have their favorite spots in Mom's gardens.
Before we came to live with Mom, little Tippy was dumped. She told us her previous owner was not nice to her and she doesn't trust people too much, but she really likes Mom!
Then there's Tommie. He's weird! Tommie was the neighborhood tom and roamed the entire neighborhood. When he came for dinner here he really liked the food so he made this his him. Mom had him neutered (we all are, BTW), and he learned to stay home although he does go over to the creek and the neighbor's veggie garden. Mostly he sleeps in Mom's flower beds! He's turning into a fat cat too!
And last, but not least there is Gabby. Gabby is a "purebred", a Bengal and he is so handsome! He is definitely a "momma's boy" and goes with her when she goes out to work in her gardens and even gets to go outside by himself! He likes to go over to the neighbor's veggie garden too and to the creek. He loves everyone, but after someone took his brother, Grayson, he isn't as "out going" as he used to be. He also misses his brother to this day. (Actually, Grayson was Gabby's half brother and was about a month younger. He was a timid fellow and didn't really like people, so it is really a mystery as to how anyone could have taken him. He was friendly with a former neighbor and he was really a very nice person (but nice to animals), we think he took Grayson when they moved away.
My brother and I and Tippy don't get to go outside although Tippy will sneak out and then gets scared and won't come back in until it gets dark! She's so silly! Mom won't let us go out because she's afraid we might not come back in. What she doesn't know is we're too afraid to go out and like it inside where we're safe.
Mom is trying to figure out a way and find someone to help he build us a "cat run" so we can go out some too. I sure hope she gets to build it as I would like to be able to go outside and get some fresh air once in awhile. She says it won't be a very big run, but there will be a tree in it and plenty of shelves we can lounge around on. And we'll be able to come and go by ourselves, through the kitchen window! Having the run would be a safe place for us and a lot better than just being able to look out a window!
Well, I think that's about all I can tell you about us. We don't all have out own pages yet, but Mom says she plans on giving everyone their own page here at Catster so they can tell their own story. She says she has to get their pictures first and they just won't let her take any!
How nifty, Miss Blue! What a great family you have! Sounds like an awfully nice Meowmy, too.
We are new, too. My name is AC - short for Annoying Cat. Meowmy found me at a rescue having a cat day at the local pet store. I was 6 months old and VERY talkative. I was only born with one eye and needed surgery. Meowmy and Grand-Meowmy came in to the pet store. Grand-Meowmy donated the money for my eye surgery. Then they went away to eat lunch. Even though Meowmy said she wouldn't adopt another cat, I guess she couldn't resist - by the end of the day - I had a new home!!
When I got home, I was named Josephine. Because I only had one eye and my Meowmy plays a privateer/pirate at the Renaissance Faires, I became CAPTAIN Josephine. Then, apparently I talked too much because now it is AC........
When I got there, there was an older, grumpy cat - Greymalkin. He was really a pussy-cat inside, but liked to play tough. Grey passed away a couple years ago and it made Meowmy VERY sad. Even though he didn't like to acknowledge my presence (he was an "only cat"), it made me very sad and lonely, too.
One day, Meowmy was at work and went to talk to someone in another department. She saw a little black fluff-ball perched on the lady's shoulder - a foster-meowmy. The kitten had big blue eyes, HUGE ears and very little fur. She had been found in the trunk of a car with her brother when they were only a week old. The brother was very sick, and the little girl couldn't be left alone quite yet. Apparently, Meowmy fell in love instantly, because this little black thing with huge bat ears showed up at home!!
They couldn't come up with a name they agreed on, but the son came in and said "Hey, that's not a cat - that's a Widget!" And Widget it was! What a spoiled little kitty! She is so full of energy and it annoyed ME! She kept trying to play, but I didn't know what that was because Grey did not play with me when I was little - so I was afraid of Widget. But NOW - we run all over the house playing chase! Sometimes I like to try and lick her, but she only takes that for so long before before she chases me around. (Many times, I do it on purpose so she WILL chase me around!) Widget is quite the Meowmy's Kitty - a little shadow that follows her around!
We are one, big, happy family and all sleep in a pile on the bed at night!
