	AWLMC Benefit Household Pet Cat Show Saturday, April 25, 2009 Montgomery Co. Fairgrounds, Gaithersburg, MD The competition for the AWLMC’s "American Feline Idol" is open to all Household Pet Cats, at least 6 months of age, spayed and neutered, and in good health. This show is not for purebred cats registered with ACFA, CFA, TICA, etc. The AWLMC Benefit Household Pet Cat Show is patterned after the pedigreed cat shows put on by the local Cat Fanciers Cat Clubs. One of the classes at these shows is for Household Pets. The AWLMC show will feature just these cats--cats without “papers”, cats of mixed breed and unknown backgrounds, cats that come from all “walks of life”. The cats will be judged for their uniqueness, pleasing appearance, unusual markings, and sweet dispositions. Each household pet reflecting good health and vitality receives a merit award. The top scoring cats receive rosettes, trophies and prizes. A Happy Household Pet Cat Club rosette will be awarded to the “Best Cat” in each ring. All proceeds from the event benefit the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County. There will be food, merchandise booths, and a silent auction. Cats will also be available for adoption at the show!
