 | | | | Many of you are aware of Jack's tragic story: lost through the negligence of the airline at JFK; found after 63 days, injured, dehydrated, severely malnourished. After 2 weeks in the hospital, his grief-stricken guardian, Karen, had to make the sad decision to send him to the Bridge.
There's now a petition at www.change.org to have "Jack the Cat's Law" enacted. It would require airlines to provide every animal traveling in cargo with a GPS device (collar or tag, for example). This is not ideal, for *no* companion animal should *ever* fly in cargo, but it is a start, and it would give some meaning to Jack's suffering. Had there been such a law, Jack would have been found much sooner and might have still been with Karen. If you agree, please go and sign the petition - for the sake of every cat, dog, or other companion animal who flies. | | | | |
