 |  |  |  | See, i think there is an important middle ground and agree with Caramel's post. "who put animals here for us to test on?" no one. but in the same way that nature assures we eat those animals (until very very recently), we are a more intelligent species.
we use animals for all kinds of things, from being show animals, to pets, to rescue animals, to bomb sniffers, to labrats. not all of it (most of it) is not pretty, but in the deepest depth of my heart, i know i would put the life of a 2 year old human baby above a 2 year old cat. I knwo that I want to make sure my sister does not die of cancer, and that my thyroid which has serious issues, has safe medicine so i and others don't die.
Having said that, perhaps what we need is not an end to animal testing, but better enforcement, better community involvement to insure that only tests that need to be done are done - and that while in the duration of the tests the animals are kept in teh best possible conditions at the time. That should be something we could all agree on, right? |  |  |  |  |
