my cat has itchy eyes, just like I do this time of year. Is there any over the counter medicine that is safe to use?

The best thing to do would be to talk to your vet. Cats can have benedryl, but you will need to check with your vet for appropriate dosing. I just want to remind people that human medicine doesn't work the same on pets, and some can even be toxic. So always check with your vet before giving your cat anything. Its not a bad idea to take your cat to the vet just to make sure its not an infection or scratch on the eye. There can also be other treatments for allergies that your vet can prescribe.
