Ayla

Ayla loves to bite my fingers is this ok?

Ayla likes to bite my fingers and climb on my arms and bite them. She's not being mean, just playing. I let her do it. Should I not let her do it and tell her "No bite" or do I just let her play? What I want to know is, is this just kitten play and she will grow out of it, or am I teaching her bad habits? Thanks!

What Ayla learns to do now, from her "mom" (you) is what she will remember for the rest of her life and think it's OK to do. It is kitten play, but it's also the time of her life when she must be taught and socialized and she learns by play, much like "human kittens". She didn't have this advantage with her mom and littermates b/c she was abandoned, so the job is up to you. Biting is not acceptable and when she' s grown and starts to bite harder, it won't be acceptable then. When she starts this, do tell her "NO BITE!" and redirect her into playing with a feather teaser or a laser light. Izzie also loves a giant marble I found. He chases this around the house regularly Please give Ayla a big kiss and hug from her friend Izzie here at "The Zoo". She is absolutely precious!
